Bursary Management

TERTIARY BURSARY MANAGEMENT FOR SKILLS DEVELOPMENT COMPLIANCE LET US HELP YOU EMPOWER THE YOUTH

Covid-19 has brought major worldwide changes. Amongst those most vulnerable to the changes are students who were sent home to begin online studies and are struggling to adjust. We can help you ensure that they are coping with the changes.

If ever the B-BBEE skills development amended codes needed to be adhered to, it's now.

We believe that access to education should not be based on the level of an individual’s economic strength. All South African young people deserve a chance to further develop their skills in order for them to play an active and meaningful role in developing and participating in the economy. To alleviate financial pressure from a student, our bursary covers tuition, accommodation, food, study material, and so much more. In addition to funding, we've also added certain programs to enhance the bursary and ensure that the student leaves with additional skills.

The new amendment to the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment act requires that companies in South Africa spend 2.5% of their leviable income on Higher Education Bursaries. The current legislation has prioritized bursaries and made them compulsory for companies to fund them, in return the companies gain points on their B-BBEE scorecard.

Ithemba Lomnotho understands that complying with these new amendments shouldn’t make a company deviate from its core business. Ithemba Lomnotho has come up with a comprehensive Bursary Program to manage these Bursaries efficiently with a maximized success rate in making a positive impact on the South African economy.

Drivers License for Graduates

Majority of South Africans finish their tertiary education without their driver’s licence. This limits the dream. Some of these qualifications require that they have a driver’s licence. The lack of a driver’s licence does not inspire one to be independent in order to deliver and do more at work. Graduates who are dependent on lift clubs and public transport do not exert themselves more in the workplace because they cannot go the extra mile. They always worry about not missing their transport, instead of worrying about finishing their assignment.

PURPOSE
The purpose of the programme is to equip graduates with driving skills so that they enhance the chances of accessing economic opportunities.

Workplace Readiness

The youth unemployment rate is a growing challenge in South Africa which graduates are unfortunately not immune to. Access to education has increased, leaving a high unsupported supply to the job market. It has now become the survival of the fittest. Assessing graduate fitness to access employment has tightened, and employers have a bigger pool to draw from. It has become important for graduate to be given skills and confidence to convince the employer that they are the right candidate. They should display that from the interview to probation. From probation to career growth.
